diagnostic imaging

Diagnostic Imaging

HVR radiologists interpret the full range of diagnostic imaging tests. The imaging “modality” (MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-ray, etc.) is selected by your doctor—sometimes in conjunction with the recommendations of one of our radiologists—and based on that particular test’s ability to provide images that will help us to accurately diagnose your health condition.

All diagnostic imaging performed today is 100% digital. In other words, “films” are no longer necessary. This offers patients and doctors many advantages. For example, by storing the images electronically, they can be accessed by your physician whenever he or she needs to review them. Also, they can be sent anywhere in the world where they may be needed to assist in your care—whether it is to a surgeon using the images to help prepare for your surgery, or another doctor who might require your patient history.

The following are a list of some of the diagnostic tests offered by our partners, and interpreted by our radiology team. Click on any test to learn more about it and its typical uses, as well as preparation instructions to follow in advance of your test.

screening mammography

Women’s Imaging

Women’s imaging refers to breast cancer screenings and diagnostic imaging (mammography/3D mammography, breast MRI and breast ultrasound), as well as bone density testing for osteoporosis, which affects women at a 4 times greater rate than men.

vascular interventional

Vascular & Interventional

Vascular and interventional radiology offers a host of new diagnostic and treatment options designed to minimize physical trauma to the patient, thereby reducing pain, recovery time, infection rates and the overall costs associated with surgery and hospital length of stay. Minimally invasive treatments are now available to treat spine fractures, uterine fibroids, varicose veins, peripheral artery disease, cancer and more.
